1 of 2: Leave the inn through its north door to get a cut-scene, then go down the wooden walkways to where Triss and some townspeople are.
2 of 2: Click to interrupt the conversation, then either try to intimidate the townspeople into leaving or ask them to tell you about the monster to get some other options. (Note that if you fail the intimidation attempt, you'll have to fist fight one of them.)
