The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Hints

Defeat the Nilfgaardians and find the place where Triss is kept.

  • 1 of 8: Run around and use your (hopefully) upgraded signs against the guards to deplete their numbers, then hack up the rest.
  • 2 of 8: Go through the SW doorway to find a ladder, but turn right and loot a chest to get a powerful steel sword before climbing the ladder.
  • 3 of 8: Run over to the campfire and kill the two soldiers, then go up the nearby ramp and drop down to a lower floor.
  • 4 of 8: Go through the doorway and kill another soldier, then move along the narrow walkway until you reach another couple of ledges you can drop down from.
  • 5 of 8: Move into the large pond area to find that the Nilfgaardian soldiers are waiting for you. They'll drop down in groups, so run around and use Igni and Aard on them to make the fights manageable.
  • 6 of 8: After they're all dead, go over to the lower wall and climb up it, then drink some potions and quicksave. When you approach the campfire, a short conversation will start, after which a very tough fight will start.
  • 7 of 8: Focus your attacks on the combat mage first to put an end to his fiery attacks, then run around to avoid getting pounded while using fiery attacks of your own.
  • 8 of 8: Eventually, the soldiers' commander will join the fight. Dodge him until you kill everyone else, then focus your attacks on him until he goes down.
