The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Hints
What's stage 1?
of 8: You need to hack off some of its huge tentacles.
of 8: Examine all of its tentacles to see that some of them have big, swollen, lumpy segments on them near the monster's body. Those are the ones you need to target.
of 8: TIP: Two of those tentacles are on the far left of the kayran's body, and two are on the far right. When the battle begins, immediately start running over to the left or right side of the area. That'll not only get you to where you can deal with those tentacles, but it'll also keep you out of range of the monster's poison breath.
of 8: Throw a Yrden sign onto the ground where one of the lumpy-segment tentacles can hit, then run around next to it until a tentacle hits it and gets paralyzed.
of 8: Immediately run over to that tentacle's swollen, lumpy segment and hack on it with the silver sword until it's severed.
of 8: Stay back while the kayran flails around angrily, then repeat the process to trap and sever the other lumpy-segment tentacle that's near the first one you did.
of 8: Once that's done, quickly run to the other side of the area, staying as far away from the kayran as you can.
of 8: To finish stage 1, you'll need to hack off one of the lumpy-segment tentacles on its other side. Do it the same way you did the first two.
