1 of 3: Follow Roche a short distance to get a cut-scene that'll start the "The Ballista" quest.
2 of 3: After it's over, go a short way west of the campfire to find Roche near the base of some stairs. Talk to him and then follow him up the stairs to get the next objective.
3 of 3: Or if he's not at the base of the stairs, go up them to find him already at the top.
