The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Hints
Protect King Foltest.
of 8: Follow Foltest out to a spot on the castle wall where his soldiers are fighting some of the La Valettes' men.
of 8: Help them slash up the opposition, being careful not to take too much damage. This is a good time to practice blocking enemy blows and hitting them with swift blows.
of 8: After the last nearby enemy soldier is killed, a cut-scene will start the "Barricade" quest.
of 8: When it ends, you'll be in a fight with Count Etcheverry and his men (or just his men if you killed the count with a ballista during the "By the King's Will" quest).
of 8: Hang back at first and attack any enemy knights that come after you, then go in and help the king and his men finish off the rest.
of 8: Optionally run up the curving side of the tower to help the knights finish off the enemy archers, then follow the king to the nearby wall section and kill off some more knights.
of 8: Wait while the king has his axemen break open a wooden door, then go through it and help kill off the knights inside. (Or hang back and use signs such as Yrden to help the king and his men fight the knights from a safer distance.)
of 8: Follow the king up a ladder to get a cut-scene that'll give you the next objective.
