The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Hints
Break the code to unlock the chest with the dagger.
of 10: Go back down the stairs, then go SW to the bedroom.
of 10: Look across the room from the bed to find a desk with the notes you need on them.
of 10: Take them, then go back upstairs and examine the floor near the chest carefully.
of 10: You'll see that there's a magic circle drawn on the floor, with five small candles set at key points.
of 10: You need to use all five candles (once each) in a specific order.
of 10: Go to inventory and read Philippa's notes to find three circle diagrams with the five candle positions numbered.
of 10: There's no indication as to which diagram you're supposed to use, so just start with the one on the left.
of 10: Assume the chest is at the top of the circle, then light the candles in the order shown on the diagram.
of 10: If you think of the chest as being at the north end of the circle, you'd light the SW candle, then the NW candle, then the NE candle, then the SE candle, and then the center candle.
of 10: That works, so there's no need to try out either of the notes' other two diagrams. Just wait until you get the next objective.
