The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Hints

Character Development Tips

  • 1 of 6: The most obvious development tip is to always do optional quests and explorations to get as much loot and XP and you can.
  • 2 of 6: After spending six talent points on the Witcher training path, it's a good idea to get a few important magic talents first, then focus on swordsmanship talents.
  • 3 of 6: To start with, spend the minimum number of talent points necessary (six) to fully power up your Quen and Igni signs. There are many combats that can be made much easier by using a fully powered Quen sign for protection and/or a fully powered Igni sign to fire-bomb groups of enemies while dodging their attacks.
  • 4 of 6: In the swordsmanship talent tree, spend the minimum number of talent points necessary (seven) to get the Combat Acumen talent. It can be *very* handy to be able to press a key to perform a finishing move that'll instantly kill up to three nearby enemies no matter what their current health is. It can also be used against some large and powerful monsters (though not the big boss monsters).
  • 5 of 6: As an alternative, only fully power up the Quen sign at first, then focus on the swordsmanship talents. The idea is that you'll use all of your vigor for protection via Quen (and maybe blocking), and your swords will do all the damage-dealing.
  • 6 of 6: After that, check the talents you've already spent one point on to see if you want to spend another one there. Then look to see if there are any talents you skipped that you want to get.
