What happens if I refuse to give it to him?
1 of 4: Note that you can only do this if you got the real formula.
2 of 4: He'll get mad and run off, but that's not the last you'll see of him.
3 of 4: He and several tough bandits will attack you the next time you travel down the wide path that goes east from Flotsam's SE gate. (Specifically, they'll appear when you approach the second north-side path branch.)
4 of 4: There's no option to hand over the formula then, so you'll have to kill them all.
