Help! One of my characters becomes hexed after I leave the Rift!

  • 1 of 4: Ah, but you were warned after taking part in your Templar Initiation of the price your character would pay for leaving the Rift! Anytime your party ventures outside of Rapax territory, your character will suffer from the Hexed condition, which lowers all of his skills by 25%. He will not fight or cast spells as effectively, and will steadily lose hit points. The only way to reverse this condition is to sever your ties with Al-Sedexus.
  • 2 of 4: To remove the curse, return to the Rift and kill Al-Sedexus. This will almost certainly destroy your faction rating with the Rapax, making the Rift and Castle hostile territory once again. Al-Sedexus can be found in the same chamber where you first encountered her, behind the large wooden doors.
  • 3 of 4: If you are careful, you can kill Al-Sedexus without turning the Rapax against you. Just make sure you dispatch her before she summons any Rapax (the Paralyze spell is useful here). If she succeeds in summoning more Rapax, DON"T fight them. Instead, kill Al-Sedexus and then make a bee-line for the portal outside. This way you can preserve your friendly faction rating with the Rapax.

    There is another method to remove the curse without destroying your faction rating, but this technique falls squarely in the "cheat" category, and requires some advance preparation.
  • 4 of 4: The trick is to kill Al-Sedexus when you first meet her in the Rift, before completing the Templar ceremony. She will still appear during the ceremony, but none of your characters will become Hexed afterwards.
