How can I cross the chasm?
1 of 3: Most of this puzzle is solved in cut-scenes and dialogue that you have no real control over. Just sit back and watch until something interesting happens.
2 of 3: Specifically, wait until Jenny becomes your new companion. You'll enter the chasm and have a chance to fight Stanley Steamer. See the next question for more help with that puzzle.
3 of 3: There is, by the way, no way keeping Nada as your companion.
