The X-Files Hints

Windows 95 Users -- Save and Print any screen shot!

  • While playing a game, have you ever wanted to capture a screen for use later?  Wonder how it is done?

This trick will work in most games.  It is very handy if you would like to save a screen shot or print a hard copy of an image.

Warning!   Screen shots in games are governed by copyright laws.  Distributing them without authorization from the game manufacturer or publisher can get you sued!  If you plan to share any image, be sure and obtain permission first.

While playing the game and viewing the image you want to capture, press your keyboard key Print Screen.  (On most keyboards, this key is one of the three buttons at the top right .. usually the third from the right.)  The image is now located in your computer's temporary memory ... the clipboard . and can be "pasted" into another program.

Exit the game.  Open Windows Paint (or other graphics editing software) and select Edit -- Paste.  The screen shot now appears on your screen ready to be edited, saved and printed.
