The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Hints

How can I defeat Gleeok?

  • 1 of 18: This fight will make convenient use of your lovely new grappling hook.
  • 2 of 18: Notice the four poles in a square around the room. They will save your life.
  • 3 of 18: You will notice you can make a path from any of these poles to any other with the hook, including diagonals.
  • 4 of 18: You may also notice the fireballs the dragons are firing at you are coming in at diagonals too.
  • 5 of 18: Don't ask me how, but your grappling hook is capable of bouncing these flaming balls of fire.
  • 6 of 18: Form the correct shape with your hook to reflect the fireballs, and they will hit the other head, damaging it.
  • 7 of 18: You will want to be careful after doing this though, as that head may well try to take a bite out of your rope. Keep moving to avoid the attack.
  • 8 of 18: Once you have repeated this cycle a few times, a huge wave of water will be called up.
  • 9 of 18: Stand on any one of the poles to avoid it.
  • 10 of 18: Use the same idea to avoid the ice, but when you're about to be hit, run quickly to the opposite side of the stage.
  • 11 of 18: After this process has repeated a couple of times, the dragons will re-emerge, without the masks on their heads.
  • 12 of 18: This means they're far more easily damaged.
  • 13 of 18: Notice how the dragons keep poking their tongues out?
  • 14 of 18: What have we been doing with tongues all through this temple?
  • 15 of 18: Hook your grappling hook onto the tongue and fix it to one of the remaining posts.
  • 16 of 18: This will attach the dragon head to it, leaving it temporarily weak.
  • 17 of 18: Bash it to bits with your sword.
  • 18 of 18: Repeat that FINAL process a few more times, and this relatively complex boss battle will finally be over.
