The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Hints

How can I get past the locked door to the third floor?

  • 1 of 12: First you will need to find the key.
  • 2 of 12: The secret to finding it lies in the first part of the room.
  • 3 of 12: Did you notice anything interactive when leading the Phantom around the blocks to pull the switch?
  • 4 of 12: There are two purple switches up there -- flip them both to make the key drop.
  • 5 of 12: Now you will need to get to where the key has fallen.
  • 6 of 12: Once the flames at the lower left of the room have been doused you can avoid the Phantom here and run up to the area.
  • 7 of 12: The key is behind some spikes, which lower when you step on a nearby pressure pad.
  • 8 of 12: But, as soon as you step off the switch, the spikes rise again.
  • 9 of 12: We need a way to take the key while still standing on the switch.
  • 10 of 12: Use an item which we know can gather up items for us.
  • 11 of 12: Stand on the pressure pad to lower the switch, then send your boomerang in to collect the key.
  • 12 of 12: You can then run back around the room (avoid the Phantom), and unlock the door.
