The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Hints
How can I get cured when I'm through being a vampire?
of 19: Start by asking someone who might know about a cure.
of 19: After you've been referred to Count Hassildor, go to Castle Skingrad's Great Hall sometime during the day.
of 19: Talk to Hal-Liurz about getting an audience with the count regarding the vampirism cure.
of 19: Wait in the Great Hall while the count is summoned, then talk to him about the cure.
of 19: He'll tell you that his wife needs to be cured since she refuses to drink blood, and that a former Glenmoril witch may have the answer. (This is reasonable, since some witches from Glenmoril Wyrd were able to cure the player of werewolfism in Bloodmoon.)
of 19: He gives you directions, but doesn't mark anything on your map.
of 19: The place you're looking for is Drakelowe, which is location 49 on the Nibenay map. You can get there fairly quickly by traveling south from Cheydinhal.
of 19: When you talk to Melisande in Drakelowe about the cure, she'll insist that you first do her the favor of getting her five empty grand soul gems.
of 19: After you hand over the soul gems, she'll tell you what all ingredients she'll need for the cure potion. See below for hints on getting the items.
of 19: When you have enough of all the ingredients, return to Drakelowe and talk to Melisande about each ingredient to turn it over. (Note that you may have to talk about some ingredients more than once if you never asked her about them before.)
of 19: After she has all the ingredients, ask her about the cure again to learn that it'll take 24 hours for her to brew it up.
of 19: Leave and then return 24 or more hours later and talk to Melisande about the cure again to get two cure potions. (The one called "Cure for Vampirism" is for you to drink, and the other is for the count's wife.)
of 19: You can drink your cure potion at any time to cure yourself of vampirism forever, but you may want to wait and use your vampish abilities for awhile longer.
of 19: In any case, return to Castle Skingrad and talk to Hal-Liurz again.
of 19: Follow her outside and to a secret sliding wall that leads to a secret door.
of 19: Go through the door and talk to the count when you find him next to his wife's bed in order to turn her cure potion over.
of 19: After Rona Hassildor drinks the potion and dies, you can loot her body legally for a few items before talking to the count again.
of 19: He'll say to come back in a day or so and talk to Hal-Liurz again to get an audience with him.
of 19: Return to the castle Great Hall after 24 hours have passed and do so, then talk to the count about "Reward" to get some gold. (Try talking to him about it over and over to get more and more gold if you don't have any game patches installed.)
