1. Wait for the download on this page to finish, and then open the .dmg file you downloaded. Drag the UHS Reader icon into your Applications folder to install it.
2. Open the UHS Reader from your Applications folder or Launchpad.
3. If you have purchased a copy of the UHS Reader, you can enter your registration code at any time by choosing UHS Reader > Subscribe from the menu or clicking the Subscribe toolbar button. You will also be prompted to enter your code the first time you open a hint file. Without a registration code, you will instead take a free trial of the UHS Reader.
4. Select File > Open from the menu (or click “Choose Hints” on the toolbar) to get a list of our available hint files. Click the New tab to connect to our server and see what’s available. Just double-click on any title to download and open those hints immediately. You can also check the boxes next to multiple titles and download them all at once with the Download button.
5. After that, use File > Open and look under the Recent or Mine tabs to find hints you have already downloaded. To open a hint file you downloaded manually, use File > Open Hints Manually and locate it through the standard macOS file dialog.

1. I bought a copy of the UHS Reader, but my code is not being accepted. What should I do?

   Please make sure that you are entering both your name and code exactly as they were sent to you. Changing either one of these will invalidate your code. If you are not sure of your registration information, please use our lost code replacement form to receive another copy.

   Your registration code is valid for 1 year from the date of purchase. If it has been longer than this, you should receive a message telling you to renew your registration. The UHS Reader knows the difference between invalid and expired codes, so if you’re told your code is invalid, that very likely means you are entering your information incorrectly – not that your registration has expired.

2. I can’t or don’t want to use the UHS Reader to download new hints. Can I get hints any other way?

   Yes, you may also download the same hint files directly from our web site instead of using the UHS Reader to download them. Once downloaded, open them with File > Open Hints Manually in the UHS Reader.

3. I already have an older UHS Reader for Mac. How do I upgrade to the latest version?

   Download and install the new version as described above. You can delete the old version from your Applications folder once the new one is working.
