Anachronox Hints

What's with this silly arcade game that I have to play when I get to the hive?

  • 1 of 3: Basically, it's a cross between a shooting gallery and a maze.
  • 2 of 3: You'll want to point and click to shoot down the ships (and shield power-ups) that will try attacking you as you explore the Hive.  When you're done shooting at your targets, your ship will automatically fly itself to point you at various doors and tunnels.  Just "shoot" at the green cursor in the center of the screen to fly in that direction.
  • 3 of 3: Once you've destroyed the final boss, you'll automatically land your ship, and you can then explore the main part of the ship like you would any other area in the game.  Just make sure that you save your game after you're done fighting, unless you're particularly eager to replace this arcade sequence again.  (Even then, I'd recommend saving first and restoring from an earlier save, just in case something goes wrong the next time.)
