Arx Fatalis Hints

Alchemy

  • Alchemy provides your character with a cheap source of useful potions. Potions can be brewed using reagents found throughout the caves and cities of Arx. To brew a potion, you must first have in your possession the proper reagent and be sufficiently skilled in Object Knowledge.

    Ferns are used in the brewing of poison potions, and require 30 Object Knowledge.
    Medicinal herbs are used for brewing poison antidote, and require 40 Object Knowledge.
    Water lilies are used to brew healing potions, and require 50 Object Knowledge.
    Morning glories are used to brew mana potions, and require 60 Object Knowledge.
    Snowdrop flowers are used to brew potions of Invisibility, and require 70 Object Knowledge.

    When you are ready to begin brewing the potion, crush the reagent with a mortar and pestle to produce a powder. Mix this powder with a bottle of water, and then heat it on a still. Should you find that your Object Knowledge skill falls short of what is required to brew the potion, try using the Bless spell to temporarily increase your skills.
