Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened Hints
How can I find out what happened to Arneson?
of 24: Search carefully in and around the house for clues of foul play.
of 24: The biggest clue is the dead body in the house's ground-floor dining room / parlor area.
of 24: After Holmes and Watson comment on the body, click on its right hand for a close-up.
of 24: Use the magnifying glass on the fingertips to identify the body as the gardener, not Arneson.
of 24: Continuing to examine the room, you'll find an overturned lounge chair next to a small table.
of 24: Click on the eye cursor that you get near the top of the chair to see that there's blood.
of 24: Examine the candelabrum that's on the floor nearby to see that there's blood on it, too. It's apparently what the abductor hit the guy in the chair with.
of 24: Examine the ashtray on the small table and the large fresco painting on the wall to conclude that it was probably Arneson who was conked and dragged out of the chair.
of 24: Follow the footprints and scuff marks from the chair to a baseboard that you can examine, and then through a door.
of 24: Check the blood on the floor just past the door, and then again next to the house's back door.
of 24: Go outside and follow the trail to a hotspot next to the back porch's steps. Click on it to get a close-up view of some footprints.
of 24: Use the magnifying glass to click on at least one footprint and one blood stain, then continue following the trail.
of 24: Farther on, you'll find another spot where you can click for a close-up.
of 24: Grab the magnifying glass and click on a blood stain to get Holmes to make some deductions that'll lead to your getting a report added to your portfolio's reports page.
of 24: Return to the house and re-check all the hotspots that lead from the back door to the overturned chair -- Holmes will have new comments to go with some of them.
of 24: Next, start backtracking along the abductor's footprints that lead up to the overturned chair.
of 24: There are two hotspots on the trail in the hallway, the second of which will give you a close-up view.
of 24: Grab the magnifying glass and scan the footprints until you find something unusual about one of them.
of 24: The one closest to the middle of the screen has a couple of marks on it. Click on them to get Holmes to realize what caused them.
of 24: Keep tracking the tracks until they end at the foot of the bed in the servant's room.
of 24: They seem to come from underneath the bed, so click on the bed to shove it aside.
of 24: Scan the floorboards under the bed to find a loose one.
of 24: Use your knife to pry the loose board up, then grab the pretty ruby from the secret compartment.
of 24: To investigate Arneson's murder any further, you'll need to follow his abductor into the main garden area.
