How do I retrieve Shandalar's cloak?

  • 1 of 15: If you killed Shanadalar's daughters in Baldur's Gate, then you have no choice but to do this quest.
  • 2 of 15: You will be told to find his cloak.
  • 3 of 15: You are transported to an island in the middle of the ocean.
  • 4 of 15: This island is littered with mages.
  • 5 of 15: Try to make your way to the northwest corner.
  • 6 of 15: You will be greeted by a group of three mages at (1881,1220).
  • 7 of 15: There is no real strategy to taking these guys down.
  • 8 of 15: Just make sure your party is protected from fear and that you are ready to cast a dispel magic to eliminate confusion.
  • 9 of 15: At (1316,671) is a meek and not-so-powerful mage named Cuchol.
  • 10 of 15: At (1056,1107) is a fairly strong mage named Garan who controls around five ankheg.
  • 11 of 15: The cloak is found at (710,256) on a mage called Deziel.
  • 12 of 15: He isn't really hard -- just rush him.
  • 13 of 15: Now go up the stairs at (621,171).
  • 14 of 15: Walk to the top of the outside area and you will be brought back to Ulgoth's Beard.
  • 15 of 15: Talk to Shandalar to complete the quest.
