Barrow Hill: Curse of the Ancient Circle Hints

Several paths are blocked by darkness!

  • 1 of 11: That's true. The only places you can go at first are the car breakdown site, the service station area, and the road that connects them.
  • 2 of 11: When you try to enter the woods west of the service station (via either of its entrances) or go on down the road leading east from the service station, you're blocked by darkness.
  • 3 of 11: Notice that aiming the cursor at the blocking darkness will give you the Use Inventory Item cursor.
  • 4 of 11: You obviously need to get an inventory item that will help you light your way, like a lantern or flashlight.
  • 5 of 11: Have you talked to the scared guy who's hiding out in the service station's office yet?
  • 6 of 11: He mentions a lantern that he can't get to work.
  • 7 of 11: If you talk to him a second time, he'll be clearer as to why he couldn't get the lantern to work.
  • 8 of 11: Apparently he ran out of matches to light it with.
  • 9 of 11: So now you need to find some Matches.
  • 10 of 11: When you've got some, go get the Lantern.
  • 11 of 11: Now when you run into a "darkness barrier," all you have to do is click on the lantern in inventory to turn it on, and you'll be able to continue.
