Barrow Hill: Curse of the Ancient Circle Hints

How can I reforge the broken seal?

  • 1 of 16: First, you need to get all three of the seal's pieces.
  • 2 of 16: They're all called "artifact fragment," and it's hard to distinguish between them in these hints. Below, I number the hints for finding the artifact fragments in the order that it's easiest to find them. Also, I provide a picture of the fragments' silhouettes so that if you have one or more in inventory already, you can figure out the number I assign to the one(s) you've got.
  • 3 of 16: Once you have them all, you need to figure out where and how you can reforge them into a single unbroken seal.
  • 4 of 16: There are several clues in the game, most notably the Stone Row Rubbing and the black-and-white drawing in the secret box inside the St. Anneka's Well building.
  • 5 of 16: The stone rubbing shows a light shining down on what must be the altar stone (because of the circular depression in it) through a hole in a nearby standing stone.
  • 6 of 16: The drawing in the well's secret box shows a man holding something that shines a light through a standing stone's hole in the top picture, and a man is reaching out to a stone with a big handprint on it in the lower picture.
  • 7 of 16: If you go to the altar stone area (NW of the archaeology camp) and examine the two standing stones there, you'll see that one of them has a hole near its top, and the other one has a handprint on it.
  • 8 of 16: Also, get a close-up of the altar stone's circular depression.
  • 9 of 16: Try putting your three artifact fragments into the depression.
  • 10 of 16: They fit! Now you need to get that light-shining-through-the-stone-hole thing going.
  • 11 of 16: If you examine the nearby stone's hole close up, you'll see that the moon is right "behind" it from that perspective.
  • 12 of 16: You'll need to use something in the hole to focus the moon's light onto the altar stone's depression, as per the drawing of the man holding an item that emits light.
  • 13 of 16: It should be fairly clear that you need a large, round Lens.
  • 14 of 16: Once you have it, get a close-up of the standing stone's hole and then click on the lens in inventory to place it.
  • 15 of 16: Now go over to the stone with the handprint on it and click on the handprint in the close-up view.
  • 16 of 16: That'll magically fix the seal, and you can take it.
