Barrow Hill: Curse of the Ancient Circle Hints
Trench Seven
of 23: The summary mentions "clean pure conditions" and "exposed to moisture."
of 23: What substance might that imply?
of 23: It probably refers to pure water, or something very similar.
of 23: Where might you go around here to get special water?
of 23: They both refer to St. Anneka coming from the sky to the ground and then energizing people's souls (with blessed water, presumably).
of 23: Since the colored candles are the water-blessing gimmicks, how might you translate sky and ground into colors?
of 23: The sky is blue, except when it's white (covered with clouds) or black (at night).
of 23: The ground is brown if it's bare earth, and green if it's covered with grass. Or black if it's been burned. Or red if it's been sprayed with weird chemicals and such.
of 23: For a more definite answer, you need to find the secret box that's hidden in the well area.
of 23: To find it, you need to use the slot in the door-like carving that's off to the right of the candle area.
of 23: One of the papers inside the secret box specifically mentions "the bluest heights" and "our brown earthy soil," so blue and brown are the ones to use.
of 23: Get a close-up view of the candles, then click on the box of matches in inventory to bring it out.
of 23: Light matches the same way you did when you lit the lantern, then light the candles in the right order.
of 23: First light the blue one, then strike a new match and light the brown one.
