What is this freaky glowing stone that materializes out of darkness?
1 of 10: That's the sentry stone.
2 of 10: You probably won't encounter it until after you start exploring the areas that require a light source.
3 of 10: When you enter an area that the sentry stone decides to appear in, you'll temporarily freeze in place while everything goes dark.
4 of 10: When you regain control, you'll need to click on your lantern in inventory to light it up again.
5 of 10: You'll then find yourself face to "face" with a freaky glowing, living stone!
6 of 10: Clicking on it or standing around next to it for very long will be fatal.
7 of 10: Fortunately, if you do touch the sentry and get sizzled, the game will reset with you on a screen next to where the sentry is.
8 of 10: The sentry can make random appearances in a few areas, but it usually only appears in the Stone Row area that's on the woodland path that leads to the Archaeological Camp and Dig Site. See that hint section for more details.
9 of 10: If you do randomly encounter it anywhere, turn around and go back a screen or two, then return to where you saw it, and it should be gone. If it's not, repeat the go-back-and-return routine until it is.
10 of 10: NOTE: I did once encounter it on the east road, near the telephone booth. It happened after I visited the local radio station and was going back to the service station area. If there are other random appearance sites, I have yet to discover them.
