Secret passage.
1 of 6: The first thing to do is get the jewellery box from Valentina and see if it does indeed have the key to the secret passage's lock in it.
2 of 6: To do that, switch control to Valentina, get the jewellery box from inventory, and click on Adrian.
3 of 6: After he stomps it open and gives you a sword handle, return to the library and get the keyhole close-up view again.
4 of 6: Try using the sword handle on the keyhole to see that it fits perfectly, and yet doesn't work.
5 of 6: Right-click on the sword handle in inventory to learn that one of its five rubies is missing.
6 of 6: Return to the library and get the keyhole close-up again, then use the sword handle on it to open up the passage and get the "Sewer system" task.
