Black Mirror III Hints

Sewer system.

  • 1 of 13: Looking around the fancy sewer area, all you'll find are some symbols and a chain leading down into a water basin.
  • 2 of 13: You know the catacombs entrance is in this area. Since there aren't any other possibilities, it must be below the water basin.
  • 3 of 13: What if the chain that goes down into the water basin is connected to a large plug that drains the basin? Or maybe it's attached to a sort of lift or elevator that can take you down to the catacombs. If so, you'll need to find a way to raise the chain.
  • 4 of 13: You clearly can't do that in the sewer area, so exit it and look around the castle for the area that's directly above it.
  • 5 of 13: If you explored the cellar as Valentina earlier (before Adrian woke up), you could have found a large well with a heavy-looking chain on its pulley. That's probably the top of the chain that's in the sewer area.
  • 6 of 13: Valentina won't go into the cellar anymore, so leave her in the sewer area and send Adrian. (Remember that the door to the cellar is in the burned-out kitchen.)
  • 7 of 13: Try going down the stairs to the main cellar area to learn that you'll need some light.
  • 8 of 13: Walk to the right in the cellar until you find the well, then examine it to verify that it's directly above the sewer area.
  • 9 of 13: As for pulling up its chain, look to the right of it to find a large water pump. Examine it to get the "Pump in the cellar" task.
  • 10 of 13: After it's over, click on the cage a couple of times to examine it, then think about a way to use it to descend to the catacombs.
  • 11 of 13: Despite the water hazard, you'll need to lower someone in the cage to see where it goes.
  • 12 of 13: Lowering Adrian in the cage will bring up the underwater puzzle screen.
  • 13 of 13: Solving that puzzle will get you the "Catacombs" task.
