The Black Mirror Hints
I can't enter the church no matter what!
1 of 5: I have had a *lot* of people write in with this problem. They claim to have done everything I list as required, but the church's side door still isn't open to them.
2 of 5: By far the most common problem with getting into the church is that the torn-up letter (see link below) isn't fully assembled, or it at least needs to be "tweaked" a little. If right-clicking on the letter brings up the puzzle screen again, you need to finish fixing up the pieces to the point where Samuel takes over and reads the letter out loud to you (mess up and then re-do a few pieces that look right if you have to).
3 of 5: A less commonly reported solution is to go to Murray's first before talking to Dr. Hermann about the film. Doing that in the opposite order (doc first) may cause Murray not to have film as a conversation topic, and that may prevent you from getting into the church later on.
4 of 5: If you can't get any of the above tips to work for you, try carefully reading through all of the hints for this chapter that precede this "Church and Tomb" section, even the ones you skipped reading because you didn't need them earlier. There might be some little thing you missed that's essential to getting the church to open its side door. (Also, read the "How can I enter the church?" hints fully if you haven't already.)
