The Elder Scrolls III: Bloodmoon Hints
The Siege of Skaal Village
of 12: When you report to Heart-Fang after finishing the test of strength, he'll say goodbye without giving you another quest.
of 12: Just wait a few seconds and the honor guard will announce that werewolves are attacking the village.
of 12: Exit to the outdoors and help the Skaal kill off the werewolves (or just stay out of the way while they do all the work).
of 12: Once they're all dead and you've gotten a journal entry, reenter the Greathall to find it infested with werewolves.
of 12: Kill all of them and then notice that Heart-Fang isn't around anymore. Sheesh! Are you gonna lose every major quest-giver in this game? First Carius, and now Heart-Fang!
of 12: Oh, well. Might as well head outside and tell Wind-Eye the bad news.
of 12: When you do, he'll notice that you've been infected with the Sanies Lupinus disease (which is a guaranteed, scripted occurrence no matter what your disease resistance is).
of 12: And now, you have a MAJOR decision to make. Do you want to let the disease run its course and become a werewolf, or would you rather cure it and skip the whole bestiality thing?
of 12: If you don't want to become a werewolf, then all you have to do is use a potion, scroll, or spell that cures common disease within the next couple of days. If you just wait without being cured, you'll eventually transform into a wolf for the first time of many.
of 12: Whether or not you become a werewolf affects the rest of the main quest line. If you do, you'll be doing the Werewolf Quests. If not, you'll be doing the Skaal Quests.
of 12: They're equivalent quest sets, and the final quest is nearly identical for each set, so it's totally up to you and your desire to deal with all the problems of being a werewolf. Check out the following link before deciding.
of 12: NOTE: If you managed to become a werewolf and then get cured before you came to this spot in the main quest series, you'll still get the werewolf disease in the Greathall, but you can never transform again no matter how long you wait. You'll therefore have to cure the disease and do the Skaal version of the last four main quests.
