Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon Hints
I don't know what to do in the room with all of the crystals on stands.
of 21: You won't be able to do much of anything in this room until you have solved the puzzle in the adjacent room, with the four large machines that each contain large blue crystals.
of 21: Once those machines are aligned properly, they should be sending a flow of energy into this room, directly into one of the crystals mounted on one of the stands.
of 21: Experiment with the crystals on the stands. What happens when George interacts with them?
of 21: It seems that all of the crystals can be rotated in their stands. Sometimes the energy is absorbed by the crystal...
of 21: ...and sometimes it is deflected out again.
of 21: Note that the handle George uses to turn the stand is connected to the stand by two rods -- set 90 degrees from each other. The direction of these rods marks the direction of energy flow into and out of each crystal. If the energy hits the crystal when one of the two rods is not directly in line with the flow of energy, then the crystal will simply absorb the energy without deflecting any out again.
of 21: If rotated properly, the energy flow emanating from the adjacent room can be diverted in the direction of another crystal in this room. Note that the view changes when George moves away from the close-up view of the crystals, making it easier to see where the energy beam is going, and where it still needs to go.
of 21: Apparently, George needs to set all of the crystals in the room, so that the energy beam is deflected to a specific spot.
of 21: In the adjacent room, we discovered that this energy beam is strong enough to move large equipment.
of 21: There is another huge machine in this room, which looks to be blocking something that we need to get to.
of 21: Perhaps, if we deflect this energy beam correctly, we could use it to move that heavy piece of equipment.
of 21: Start with the crystal that is in the direct line of the beam of energy coming from the large machine in the adjacent room.
of 21: Is the energy beam hitting the large machine? Did anything happen? Can you guess why the machine didn't move?
of 21: Remember the flow of energy in the previous room?
of 21: The energy is currently trying to push the machine further up-screen, toward the back wall.
of 21: What you need to do is pull it back down-screen, away from the back wall. To do that, George will need to figure out how he can reverse the flow of energy.
of 21: The controls that could adjust the energy flow aren't in this room.
of 21: Go back to the room that had the four large machines, and examine the ultra-powerful machine that George built earlier.
of 21: There is a control panel on the side of the machine that will reverse the energy flow. Move George to the panel, and use it to move the machine into place.
