Cleopatra: A Queen's Destiny Hints

How do I operate the catapult?

  • 1 of 18: Even though it's debatable whether or not counterweight trebuchets were available in Egypt at the time, this does seem to be one. One simply has to pull down the arm, load, and then release and let the counterweight do the work. Not that hard, is it?
  • 2 of 18: Unfortunately, the winding mechanism seems to be broken.
  • 3 of 18: Perhaps we can find some way to reattach the winch cable loop to the arm. But how are we going to reach it?
  • 4 of 18: I really don't think that ladder could be in a more obvious place. We've got a new problem, though -- how's that cable loop going to stay attached when we start winding it?
  • 5 of 18: Maybe we can stick something through the hole to keep it in place.
  • 6 of 18: You think that broken peg was meant to be used for that?
  • 7 of 18: Now let's try shooting this thing. You don't want to be hit on the head by a ladder, so put that back before winding the catapult.
  • 8 of 18: If we want to have a nice clean trajectory, we can't just leave the ammo "pouch" in a mess on the ground.
  • 9 of 18: Place it on the base of the catapult and load up. Then hook the sling to the hook on the catapult arm.
  • 10 of 18: Time to let that rock fly! Say what? The peg is stuck? Great, just what we needed.
  • 11 of 18: We could cut the winding rope to fire the catapult, but that would mean this is our only shot... not a great solution.
  • 12 of 18: What if our created peg were to fail? That might get the catapult working again.
  • 13 of 18: Unfortunately, we seem to have done a pretty good job making it, because it's holding just fine. Maybe we could pull it out.
  • 14 of 18: Of course that would require as much, if not more force than flipping the other peg. If only we had a hammer...
  • 15 of 18: ...has that light switched on yet? Maybe we could somehow force the peg out of place with the hammer.
  • 16 of 18: Do so, and try again -- but our shot still didn't quite make it to the wall.
  • 17 of 18: Looks like we're going to need another shot at the wall before it will give in. Let's remove that brick first, though.
  • 18 of 18: Yay! Now we can finally go inside!
