Crystal Key 2: The Far Realm Hints

What do I do in the room with the pedestals?

  • 1 of 14: You will need to accumulate information from a couple of other sources before you will be able to solve the puzzles in this room.
  • 2 of 14: Before continuing, make sure you've found and rescued Athera.
  • 3 of 14: There are six pedestals around the outside of the room, each with an item in a glass case.  And there is a large column in the middle of the room, surrounded by bits of what appear to be maps on the floor.  The six maps set into the floor are active, as well as the three buttons on each pedestal.
  • 4 of 14: Pay attention to the items on the pedestals.  Are they, in any way, familiar to you?
  • 5 of 14: You should have already seen (or heard of) all six of these items in at least two other places so far.
  • 6 of 14: Have you played a game (back at the Market) with the young boy Cavan?
  • 7 of 14: During the game, Cavan tells you a story about Merik the Warrior, and the gifts that he collected when he won various battles.
  • 8 of 14: The items on the six pedestals represent the six gifts of Merik.
  • 9 of 14: You will need to relate the six gifts of Merik to the six maps on the floor.
  • 10 of 14: Given the relationship between the six gifts of Merik, and the six maps, how do you suppose that you could use that information?
  • 11 of 14: It would appear that you must click on each map section in a specific order, to solve the puzzle.
  • 12 of 14: Using all of the information you've accumulated for this puzzle, click on each of the six map sections, in the correct order, to solve the puzzle.
  • 13 of 14: If you have trouble remembering the six maps (since they are fairly nondescript), you can enter each map one at a time.  Go to each of the pedestals, enter the appropriate code, view the associated map, and then find that map section on the floor and click on it.  Then you can continue to the next pedestal (in the proper order), and do the same thing.
  • 14 of 14: When you have solved the puzzle, the large column in the middle of the room will open, providing access to another section of the Merari Palace.
