I don't get it -- what are the values for each shield?

2 of 8: The shield with the gem is made up of bronze, silver, and silver. Translating to the colors of the die, that would be red, white, and white.
3 of 8: The 3 numbers associated with the gem, then, would be 1, 3, and 3.
4 of 8: The shield with the dagger is bronze, gold, and silver -- i.e., red, green, and white -- producing the 3 numbers 1, 2, and 3.
5 of 8: The shield with the chalice is gold, silver, and gold (green, white, and green) -- resulting in the numbers 2, 3, and 2.
