Case 4 Investigation

  • 1 of 35: Caution: Spoilers! This hint will lay out the entire investigation move by move, for one possible way (there may be others) to solve the case so that you find every possible bit of evidence. The best way to use this hint is to read only until you find something you haven't done yet, then go do it.
  • 2 of 35: Camp Site: Collect the evidence and analyze it at the mobile unit.
  • 3 of 35: Morgue: Ask all questions to get a few more pieces of evidence.
  • 4 of 35: Camp Site: Return to the scene of the crime to collect evidence that was hidden by the body.
  • 5 of 35: Lab: Analyze everything.
  • 6 of 35: Brass: Get the address of Carla (the victim's wife) and Emily (the victim's mother) from the info on the insulin bottle.
  • 7 of 35: Carla's Condo: Talk to Carla; get Lou Aster's address.
  • 8 of 35: Emily's Estate: Talk to Emily; get a cigarette butt.
  • 9 of 35: Contractor's Shop: Talk to Lou. Gather evidence from everywhere but the office.
  • 10 of 35: Brass: Ask all questions.
  • 11 of 35: Lab: Analyze new evidence.
  • 12 of 35: Carla's Condo: Ask all questions.
  • 13 of 35: Emily's Estate: Ask all questions and get new evidence (memory stick and receipt).
  • 14 of 35: Lab: Run the memory stick through the trace computer to get a photo. Compare the receipt with the note from the camp site.
  • 15 of 35: Carla's Condo: Ask about the photo; get hiking boots.
  • 16 of 35: Lab: Compare Carla's boot to the print from inside tent.
  • 17 of 35: Brass: Get a warrant for Lou's office.
  • 18 of 35: Contractor's Shop: Get evidence from Lou's office.
  • 19 of 35: Lab: Process the new evidence.
  • 20 of 35: Brass: Ask about the victim's cell phone to get three voicemail recordings.
  • 21 of 35: Lab: Listen to the recordings on the Trace Computer.
  • 22 of 35: Morgue: Talk to Robbins about Compound 1080; segue to interview with Grissom.
  • 23 of 35: Brass: Ask for a warrant for Lou and ask him everything. Notice that after you come back from one of the reenactments, you'll need to click on him again to ask the rest of the questions.
  • 24 of 35: Carla's Condo: Ask new questions.
  • 25 of 35: Brass: Ask for warrant for Emily's garage.
  • 26 of 35: Emily's Estate: Ask questions, then search the garage for evidence.
  • 27 of 35: Lab: Analyze the evidence from the garage.
  • 28 of 35: Brass: Ask for a warrant for Emily. Talk to her; get a receipt for tobacco. After she gives it to you, talk to her again to get her fingerprints.
  • 29 of 35: Brass: Ask about tobacco purchase. Get a warrant to search Carla's condo.
  • 30 of 35: Carla's Condo: Collect evidence.
  • 31 of 35: Lab: Analyze the new evidence.
  • 32 of 35: Brass: Talk to Lou again.
  • 33 of 35: Brass: Get a warrant for Carla. Ask everything; get her fingerprints.
  • 34 of 35: Lab: Compare fingerprints.
  • 35 of 35: Brass: Ask for warrant for Derrick's killer.
