How do I get across the gap near the stairs?

  • 1 of 8: You may notice a couple of large planks nearby.  You'd think those would help, but you might not be able to use them right away.
  • 2 of 8: That's because there's apparently a vampire waiting for you in a turret on the other side of the gap.  The game won't even let you try to cross that gap until you've killed that vampire.
  • 3 of 8: Fortunately, it just so happens that he's in the turret that the cannon just before the gap is pointing at.
  • 4 of 8: Once you've fired the cannon, you can pick up a plank and put it on the gap.
  • 5 of 8: Now, go and get the other plank and put it on the gap as well.  (You may have to retrieve it from the hole in the roof, near the other cannon.)
  • 6 of 8: Hmm ... two boards will only reach halfway across.
  • 7 of 8: You might as well go that far, then.
  • 8 of 8: Once you're standing on the second plank, pick up the first one, and move it to the gap in front of you.  You should now be across.
