Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon Hints

How can I find these books?

  • 1 of 10: First, you'll need to find the clue that the professor left to indicate which books she wants you to have.
  • 2 of 10: As he notes, the literal translation really isn't of any use. There's a hidden clue in those four Latin words. (You can click on them several times to get Father Arno to think about them further, but it won't really help.)
  • 3 of 10: Since we're assuming that the words are clues to finding the books the professor thinks are important, they may be related to how she catalogues her books.
  • 4 of 10: The big catalogue volume that was setting on her desk has been thrown into the fire, so you'll have to figure out the cataloguing system another way.
  • 5 of 10: If you go into the library, you'll see that each of the five book alcoves has a Latin inscription over it.
  • 6 of 10: Inside an alcove, you'll see that each bookcase has an inscription above it, as does each shelf.
  • 7 of 10: And on each shelf, each book is labeled with the letters A thru X. That's four different types of label, and the clue words each have four letters!
  • 8 of 10: If you reopen the three books that are still on the professor's desk, you'll see that each one has a white tab inserted in it with four letters on it. So that's definitely the key to it!
  • 9 of 10: Once you understand the cataloguing system, start looking for the four books you need, using the cataloguing "words" ARMA, SUNT, INDE, and MALA. (Remember, the first letter in the four-letter cataloguing "word" is the last letter of the inscription above the correct book alcove, the second letter is the last letter in the phrase above the correct bookcase, the third letter is the last letter in the word above the correct shelf, and the fourth letter is the letter that's directly under the correct book.)
  • 10 of 10: NOTE: There's an optional puzzle on page three of the "Runic anthology" book.
