Dracula 3: The Path of the Dragon Hints

How can I get out of this trap?

  • 1 of 9: By using the five big buttons on the board in front of you.
  • 2 of 9: Notice that each one has a mythical beast engraved on it.
  • 3 of 9: The top left one looks like a giant serpent, and the top right one looks like one of the dragon carvings on the old sundial you helped Janos restore several days ago.
  • 4 of 9: As for the other three, they're a three-headed beast, a two-headed beast, and a one-headed beast. I don't know exactly what they're called, so I'll just refer to them in these hints by their head count.
  • 5 of 9: If you look up above the puzzle board and the barred window, you'll see two large squares that you can click the eye cursor on to get brief descriptions.
  • 6 of 9: Those descriptions would seem to imply that you and Janos are playing a sort of game, where you choose one of the five beasts, and then he chooses one.
  • 7 of 9: If his beast "defeats" your beast, then you lose a point, which pushes you one step closer to being skewered.
  • 8 of 9: Since this puzzle is somewhat random, it isn't really useful to try to figure out one best solution. Instead, repeat the following process:

    1) save the game
    2) press the giant serpent (top left) button
    3) if you win and Janos gets pushed back, go to step 1
    4) if it's a tie and no one gets pushed back, go to step 2
    5) if you lost and got pushed back, restore your save and go to step 2
  • 9 of 9: Once you get Janos pushed up next to the spikes, Father Arno will refuse to continue playing the game.
