Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Hints
Vigil's Keep Tips
of 10: Exit the throne room to talk to a private who'll give you the companion quest "The Prisoner." You can also ask her about messages to bring up her job board and accept the "A Daughter Ransomed" and "Far Afield" optional quests.
of 10: Exit conversation and then talk to her again to get the "Oaths of Fealty" quest. Finish it, then talk to Mistress Woolsey to get the "Trade Must Flow" optional quest.
of 10: Leave the throne room and look in the blacksmith area that's to the east to find Herren and Master Wade. Get the "Elemental Requirements" optional quest from Herren, then check his store inventory, which includes a backpack and the Guardian specialization manual.
of 10: Look south of the throne room's transition point for a statue you can examine to start a conversation with Anders. (Try to gain some approval points.)
of 10: To the west of that is the door to the dungeon. Go there and finish the "The Prisoner" companion quest, then right-click on the portrait that's next to Nathaniel in the throne room to get a brief conversation with him.
of 10: Return to the courtyard and talk to Sergeant Maverlies near the statue to get the "It Comes From Beneath" optional quest. Finish its first objective, then talk to Voldrik Glavonak (SE of Sergeant Maverlies) to get the "Cost of Doing Business" optional quest.
of 10: Get the "The Howe Family" companion quest, then check around the area past the courtyard's east gates to find two locked chests, a wooden crate, and a kitten that you can pick up and give to Anders as a gift.
of 10: Have Nathaniel pickpocket the private and the two soldiers who are near the world map transition point to get a family sword from each one of them. You'll have better swords to use, so sell them to a merchant.
of 10: Use the world map transition point at the south end of the courtyard to travel around and finish the two quests you got from the private's job board. You should also get the encounter where you save the merchant Lillith from bandits.
of 10: Travel to Amaranthine and back so you can get the "Salvage Operation" quest from the private's message board, then finish it.
