Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Hints

Eradicate darkspawn beneath the Vigil.

  • 1 of 11: Have Sergeant Maverlies take you to the cave-in site, then tell her to have the men clear the rubble.
  • 2 of 11: Go down the stairs and through a door to find a room with three darkspawn corpses, a warrior statue (codex entry), and a mabari hound.
  • 3 of 11: Examine the hound and try to comfort him for bonus XP, then take his scroll to get the "Adria's Plight" quest. (That quest takes place entirely within this area, so hints for it will be integrated into these.)
  • 4 of 11: Go through the south door and up to the doorway of the next room, which contains several hurlocks, including a spellcasting emissary. Start off with a good area-of-effect attack (like Blood Wound), then quickly finish off the emissary.
  • 5 of 11: Search the crate and two soldier corpses in their room, then check the north side room for three crates and a codex-giving letter. The south side room has a small shriek ambush, plus a crate, lootable shelves, two codex-giving books, and a shrine to Andraste.
  • 6 of 11: Go through the west door and enter the dungeon room to find a whole bunch of prisoner ghouls. You'll probably want to park your party in a previous room and try to lure ghouls in a few at a time.
  • 7 of 11: Search the Howe correspondence pile, locked chest, and soldier corpse, then have your rogue pick open the locked crypt door.
  • 8 of 11: Return to the dungeon and talk to the prisoners in the locked cell to release them, and possibly get some approval points.
  • 9 of 11: Move on to the next room to fight Adria the Ghoul and her ravenous ghoul friends. Killing Adria finishes the "Adria's Plight" quest.
  • 10 of 11: Loot Adria to get a magic ring for mages, then read the codex-giving letter, search the knight, and loot the veridium deposit to get veridium ore for the "Elemental Requirements" optional quest.
  • 11 of 11: Approach the rubble blockage past Adria's room to get a cut-scene that finishes this objective.
