Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening Hints

Throne Room Tips

  • 1 of 9: Look around the throne room to find two piles of books, a weapon stand, an armor stand, and a personal storage chest to loot.
  • 2 of 9: NOTE: You can use the personal storage chest to store inventory items in. To deposit items, open the chest and drag the items from your inventory to the chest's. The chest can hold about 100 separate items.
  • 3 of 9: There are also two books that you can read for codex entries.
  • 4 of 9: Talk to Ambassador Cera to do merchant business and item enchanting. (Note that armor can now be enchanted, too, and there's a whole separate set of runes that are used for that.)
  • 5 of 9: Besides having lots of runes and rune tracings to sell, Ambassador Cera also sells the Battlemage specialization manual.
  • 6 of 9: You can also get store services from Yuriah. Note that his inventory includes two backpacks and the Shadow specialization manual, plus a very expensive amulet called Scout's Medal. (It's a great amulet for warriors to wear. Scout's honor!)
  • 7 of 9: After quicksaving, right-click on the big cask near Oghren and see if you can gain any approval with him. (If you lose approval, quickrestore and try again.) Keep this up until right-clicking on the cask doesn't start a conversation with Oghren.
  • 8 of 9: The throne room is your base camp, and is where you should return frequently to talk to your companions and remove everyone's injuries.
  • 9 of 9: NOTE: Some companion conversations happen when you enter the throne room, and some happen when you examine an item that's near them, like with Oghren's cask. You may also be able to talk to companions outside the throne room, but I never got much out of them that way.
