Dragon Age: Origins Hints

Ruins Upper Level

  • 1 of 10: Past the first door, turn left and go up to the arch-shaped brick wall to discover that it's a secret door.
  • 2 of 10: Open it to find two skeletons to fight and a locked chest to loot. As you leave the secret room, two more skeletons will attack you.
  • 3 of 10: Go down the steps and look on the left for a pile of bones before going down the big "root ramp."
  • 4 of 10: Kill the two werewolves that attack you, then look around for rubble and a pile of filth to raid. There's another secret door in the south wall, past which you can loot two piles of bones.
  • 5 of 10: Go through the west door to find a corridor intersection. Go north to find some lootable rubble, then go slowly west until a giant spider attacks.
  • 6 of 10: Don't let it lead you west. When it runs off, enter one of the nearby side corridors to lure it to you. After it's dead, park your party in a side corridor and use the Lead-Them-Off Strategy to lure spiders in one or two at a time.
  • 7 of 10: After they're all taken care of, search the north room at the next corridor intersection to find two piles of bones, a locked chest, and three lootable cocoons. The west room has another pile of bones, another locked chest, and another cocoon.
  • 8 of 10: Take the south passage to reach a large room with a circular design in the middle. Prepare before you enter, since a small but powerful dragon will swoop down and attack you.
  • 9 of 10: After the dragon is killed, have your rogue disarm the rest of the traps, then loot the knight corpse, soldier corpse, dwarf corpse, two locked chests, and "dragon hoard" pile.
  • 10 of 10: Just past the hoard is a transition point that'll take you to the Lower Ruins area.
