Dragon Age: Origins Hints

Dereliction of Duty

  • 1 of 7: This is one of the quests on the Lothering box's job board.
  • 2 of 7: You have three deserters to track down and kill. They're at Lake Calenhad, Denerim, and the Frostback Mountains.
  • 3 of 7: You'll find Sammael standing around the Lake Calenhad Docks area, near the inn.
  • 4 of 7: Layson is in the dirty hovel at the south end of Denerim's rundown back street area, which you'll also visit on Denerim's "Back Alley Justice" optional quest. (You have to deal with that quest's thugs before you can get to Layson.)
  • 5 of 7: Tornas is in the Frostback Mountains region, along the east side of the surface dwarf camp. (Note that if this is your first visit to the region, you'll have to fight some bounty hunters on your way to the camp.)
  • 6 of 7: Talk to each deserter about his desertion to start a fight with him and his two bodyguards. After the combat is over, loot the deserter to get the guild supplies he stole.
  • 7 of 7: Report to any of the Blackstone Liaison guys after killing and looting all three deserters to get your reward of 2 gold coins.
