Dragon Age: Origins Hints
Market District Tour
of 16: Just east of the market entrance is the local chantry. Talk to Sister Theohild and Mother Perpetua at the chantry's entrance for some amusing dialogue and a codex entry.
of 16: You can't enter the chantry building, but you can talk to the two templar guards for a codex entry. Also, you can get some quests from the chanter's board.
of 16: For more quests, talk to Slim Couldry a ways south of the chantry, Sergeant Kylon a ways east of Couldry, and the Mages' Collective Liaison who's in a kind of niche between buildings a bit east of the chantry.
of 16: There's a wooden crate you can loot next to a house NE of Sergeant Kylon.
of 16: Between Couldry and Kylon is the door to Wade's Emporium. Look for a locked chest inside, then check Herren's shop inventory.
of 16: In the open market south of the emporium, look for a locked chest near Habren, three more along the market's south side (two of which require a key that you'll get on one of Slim Couldry's quest objectives), and a book you can read for a codex entry near Cesar.
of 16: NOTE: You'll probably encounter Ser Landry and get the "Honor Bound" quest while exploring the market's south side.
of 16: There are several people in the open market that you can talk to, but you can only get merchant services from Cesar. Check just south of the market for another merchant named Gorim.
of 16: Gorim sells a Berserker specialization manual, so buy it or use the trick below to get it if you want to make someone into a berserker eventually.
of 16: Look next to a house a bit west of Gorim for another lootable wooden crate, then go east from Gorim to find a Grey Warden poster on the wall that you can read. (Its info will be helpful in the Pearl area.)
of 16: In the southern alley that starts east of Gorim, enter the Gnawed Noble Tavern and look around for items and quests.
of 16: Enter Genitivi's home across from the tavern, but don't talk to Weylon or approach the bedroom door to the south unless you want to get an early start on the Urn of Sacred Ashes part of the Redcliffe Treaty Quests.
of 16: Look around the house for two codex-giving books, then leave and go to the west end of the alley.
of 16: Loot the barrel there, then enter the Wonders of Thedas shop. Look around it for three books and two scrolls that give codex entries, then talk to the tranquil proprietor to see the shop inventory.
of 16: He sells a manual that teaches the Spirit Healer specialization, so either buy it or use the specialization unlocking trick if you want to make someone into a spirit healer eventually.
of 16: Enter the warehouse that's near the Wonders of Thedas shop and look around for three chests to loot.
