Dragon Age: Origins Hints

  • 1 of 13: Move along the starting road until you encounter blockage, then enter the nearby southern tunnel. Raid the darkspawn corpse, then move on to find another one.
  • 2 of 13: As you approach the second one, several giant spiders will appear and attack. (They're apparently what's been killing darkspawn for you.)
  • 3 of 13: Raid the fractured stone on the south side of their cave, then kill a couple more giant spiders in the tunnel that leads to a larger cave.
  • 4 of 13: In it, an ogre is being swarmed by giant spiders. Kill as many spiders as you can while the ogre is distracting them, then finish them off and go north to find hurlocks fighting spiders.
  • 5 of 13: Stay as far back as you can while fighting them to avoid triggering a spider ambush. After they're down, trigger the ambush and finish off the spiders.
  • 6 of 13: Look to the east for a fractured stone and a darkspawn corpse, then go back south and check the narrow SE tunnel for a fractured stone and a codex-giving warrior's grave.
  • 7 of 13: Check the small tunnel SW of the spider ambush for a shriek alpha and a locked chest, then go down the north tunnel until you reach a path split where a giant poisonous spider spits at you from the northern branch.
  • 8 of 13: Use ranged attacks to draw it to you, then start down the northern branch to get several other spiders to drop down and attack.
  • 9 of 13: After you kill them off, continue down the north branch until you reach a giant cave.
  • 10 of 13: Enter the tunnel that starts on the giant cave's west side and move along it until you come to a locked chest near a bridge.
  • 11 of 13: On the other side of the bridge is a large area where you'll have to fight genlock emissaries and corrupted spiders, including their queen.
  • 12 of 13: Loot the spider queen to get several nice items, then look for a fractured stone on the west side of her area, two locked chests next to the table with Branka's journal on it, and an interactive cocoon south of Branka's journal.
  • 13 of 13: If the journal isn't interactive yet, wander around a bit until it is, then right-click on it to read it.
