1 of 5: Right near the entry room's exit door is a "gather your party" gadget that you can use to add and remove companions from your group. That isn't very useful right now, but it will be later on after you get more than three companions. Look for similar gadgets in other areas, since they can save you a trip to your home base.
2 of 5: Read the codex item on the south side of the room, then go up the stairs to the east and turn left. Check the northern rooms to find a codex item, a locked chest, and the item that'll start the "Bottled Scar 5:34 Exalted" side quest.
3 of 5: Next, check the one accessible eastern room to find a codex item.
4 of 5: Go down to the southern rooms to find a codex item near Aveline. You might as well finish the "A Friend in the Guard" quest now to get a third companion.
5 of 5: Check the room west of Aveline's to find a locked chest, then look for a codex item in the room south of hers.
