Dreamfall: The Longest Journey Hints
How can I climb down to the fire escape from there?
of 13: You're going to have to improvise something so that you can climb down.
of 13: Something that's pretty much standard fare for adventure games.
of 13: You need to make your own rope.
of 13: Sheets would work nicely.
of 13: When you first arrived on this floor, a man was walking by in his underwear. He must be sleeping on something.
of 13: Go into his room, and notice that there's a "dirty sheet" you can take.
of 13: You can wait until he leaves his room again and then take it from his bed then, or you can just go ahead and take it while he's sleeping. He'll put up a very poor fight -- you might feel guilty about it, but it's not going to pose any real challenge if you're in a rush.
of 13: If you do fight, just be careful not to drag the fight on for too long, or he may shout for help.
of 13: Either way you get it, the sheet alone doesn't seem to be quite long enough.
of 13: You won't find another sheet, but something else similar (and similarly dirty) will work.
of 13: Go into the bathroom and take the dirty towel off the rack.
of 13: You can then combine the two items in your inventory to create a makeshift rope.
of 13: Once you have that, use it on the radiator, and you'll be able to climb down. (I found that it helped to use "focus mode" when standing near the window. Once you're in focus mode, you can select between the nearby objects until the radiator is selected. This may help you if you keep selecting the window rather than the radiator.)
