Echo: Secrets of the Lost Cavern Hints
Where can I find something for Arok to eat?
of 15: There's not much around in the way of game...
of 15: ... but a river such as the one running through this valley should certainly have fish in it.
of 15: See if you can find an optimal spot in the river to do some fishing.
of 15: There's one spot where some rocks come together, where fish can be seen swimming between the gap in the rocks. This area of the river is in a fairly central location -- two steps to the left of the right-most location along the river (or one step to the right of the location with the willow tree). Note: When descriptions in this section of the game state whether a location is to the right or left, the direction is determined by how the area is seen if you were standing with your back to the cave and looking toward the river.
of 15: The place along the river where there are lots of rocks looks like a good place to catch fish. Now we only need to find something to help Arok catch them.
of 15: If you've tried to use the newly created harpoon to catch some of the fish swimming by the rocks in the river, you'll find that it isn't going to be that easy. Arok comments that the fish are much too fast.
of 15: Can you think of a way to slow down the fish?
of 15: Look around the spot where you are standing, and find four rocks that can be picked up.
of 15: Place each rock among the others already in the river, to close the gap that the fish are swimming through.
of 15: Smaller rocks by themselves may not block the waterway very well.
of 15: Why don't you try starting with the largest rock?
of 15: You will need to toss in the largest rock first -- which is the one on the far-left of the four available rocks.
of 15: The second rock should be the next largest rock -- the second rock from the right. The remaining two rocks can be added in either order.
of 15: Due to the improvised rock dam, the fish will need to leap over the rocks. As each fish approaches the rocks, they will pause for just a moment. This is the time to strike.
of 15: With harpoon in hand, wait until a fish appears, and hesitates momentarily. As quickly as possible, click on the fish with the harpoon. It may take a few tries, but you should be able to spear a fish for Arok.
