Echo: Secrets of the Lost Cavern Hints
What should I do with the stack of stones under the tree?
1 of 7: The goal to this puzzle is to move all the stones into a single pile directly under the tree. Note: It is possible to reset this puzzle -- start by clicking on the "X" at the bottom right of the screen to exit the puzzle, then take a step towards Klem's cave.
2 of 7: When you first approach the tree, the stones are stacked such that one stone is on the left and four are on the right. In the beginning, there aren't any stones piled under the tree yet.
3 of 7: This puzzle is a version of the Towers of Hanoi puzzle.
4 of 7: In case you're not familiar with that puzzle, you can only move one stone at a time -- and it can only be the top stone.
5 of 7: You can have as many as three piles of stones.
6 of 7: The stones must always be stacked from largest to smallest. In other words, a larger stone cannot be placed on top of a smaller one.
7 of 7: To solve this puzzle, it will be necessary to move the stones back and forth between the three piles. It will be necessary to create either small stacks, or medium stacks, in order to uncover and move the larger stones underneath.
