How can I build a fire?

  • 1 of 11: It won't be possible to start a fire until you've solved another puzzle first.
  • 2 of 11: You'll need some burning materials -- something that will catch fire easily and something that will burn for a while.
  • 3 of 11: To build the fire, place the branches and the tinder in the fire pit.
  • 4 of 11: Next, you will need two additional items to create a spark to help start the fire.
  • 5 of 11: The knapped flint is available to you at any time.
  • 6 of 11: But you will also need one more item that isn't available to you immediately.  You will need to obtain some food before the next object will be available.
  • 7 of 11: Once Arok has caught a fish, Toar will be sitting next to the fire pit.
  • 8 of 11: Speak with Toar for him to give you a marcasite rock.
  • 9 of 11: Look at the marcasite in inventory (using the magnifying glass at the bottom left of the inventory screen) to get a valuable clue about marcasite.
  • 10 of 11: Place the marcasite rock on the edge of the fire pit.
  • 11 of 11: Use the knapped flint on the marcasite rock to start the fire.
