The Egyptian Prophecy: The Fate of Ramses Hints
Help - I cannot win the duel with the Tuya/cobra.
of 16: This is very likely the most difficult puzzle in the game. The first suggestion is to read the instructions -- everything that the game presents to you. To open the instructions, click on the question mark in the top right corner of the screen. Scroll through all pages, to learn how to play the game.
of 16: In most cases, Maya has the advantage. She has the first move. She can move diagonally; the snake cannot. Make use of this diagonal movement for getting Maya around the board more quickly.
of 16: Stay away from the snake's head. While the snake cannot move diagonally, it will strike diagonally.
of 16: Maya can also strike in any direction (8 squares). The snake can only strike in locations ahead and to the sides (5 squares).
of 16: Generally the game appears to be reproducible. That is, if Maya makes exactly the same move from game to game, the snake usually will, as well. This aids in the process of "learning".
of 16: In the case of this puzzle, the best offense is a good defense. Start by casting spells around Maya, to build a defense of "safe" squares. Use the right mouse button for protective spells.
of 16: When possible, it is advantageous not to move to a new square until Maya has cast a protective spell on it. The square will turn blue to indicate that the square has Maya's spell on it.
of 16: While not entirely predictable, it is very common that when Maya casts spells on squares (rather than moving to new ones), the snake will most often not move either. Experiment with casting spells on multiple squares before moving onto one of them.
of 16: Neutralized (yellow) squares are to the advantage of the player who neutralized them. Since they stay neutralized for one turn, that turn would be the opponent's turn. Thus, if the snake neutralizes one of Maya's squares, look out. It will be neutralized during Maya's turn, but will then be completely open for the snake to pounce on!
of 16: Always try to work around the snake. As much as possible, approach from the back (or at least from the side, but behind the head).
of 16: The biggest advantage that the snake has is its length. Maya must strike four times to defeat the snake, while a single strike by the snake will kill her. Don't get over-anxious. Be sure that you can strike, and safely retreat (or strike repeatedly until the snake is defeated).
of 16: While it is not always possible to determine how the snake will respond to a move of Maya's, it seems that most of the time it will be more aggressive the closer that Maya is to the snake. So keeping distance (at first) between Maya and the snake is a good strategy.
of 16: Another consideration is to keep "out of sight" (i.e., behind the line of sight of the snake) whenever possible.
of 16: Maya does not have to attack the snake's head; in fact, attacking the tail (or even a mid-section) is recommended.
of 16: While keeping the above tips in mind, try to move Maya until she has walked around the head of the snake and is close enough to the snake's tail to damage it.
of 16: There is not one single solution to this puzzle. Many different approaches will allow you to win.
