Fable: The Lost Chapters Hints
Melee Training
1 of 5: The first thing you do is hit Whisper with your new sword seven times. She'll try to block and dodge your blows, so you may have to swing at her more than seven times, but at least she won't strike back.
2 of 5: The second phase has her doing the attacking and you doing the blocking. This is simple, since all you have to do is stand still facing her and hold down the Block button -- no need to go into any fancy rolling maneuvers. (Note that if you're on the PC with a two-button mouse, the mouse wheel is the third button, and you can hold it down to go into block mode.)
3 of 5: The third phase has you both attacking and blocking in order to knock each other's health down. You'll probably find it faster and easier to concentrate on a strong offense and not bother with any blocking at all.
4 of 5: When you choose to continue your training, the Guildmaster will walk off to the archery range, but you may want to stick around at the melee ring until a hooded guy shows up and offers you a better melee weapon if you do really well against Whisper in another melee fight.
5 of 5: If you ask to be graded and get an A+, you'll get an iron katana. (TIP: The "all-out offense" method should work again and get you an easy A+.)
