Fable: The Lost Chapters Hints
Prison Break
of 16: You start on this quest the instant the previous one about rescuing your mom is over.
of 16: You're stripped of all gear and put in a prison cell. Before you can do anything about that, you'll have to wait for the guard to stop yapping and leave.
of 16: After you hear from the guy in the cell next to you, the guard will return and take you out to the annual prison race sponsored by the unspeakably sadistic warden.
of 16: As soon as the race starts and you regain control, run forward and follow the guards' directions as to which way to go.
of 16: Until you get up onto the top floor, that is. There's a shortcut you can take when you're near the prison's NE tower. Instead of running into the tower and taking a left like the nice guard wants you to, turn left just before you reach the tower and run along a wooden plank structure. You don't have to do this to reach the finish line (where the warden is waiting) first, but it helps.
of 16: You do need to win the race in order to get a shot at stealing the warden's personal prison key, which you'll need in order to carry out your prison break.
of 16: Once you're back in your cell with the key, you can open your cell door and then all the other cell doors in the block to get some followers. Do so (and bust open any barrels you find) before you head outside to the prison's courtyard.
of 16: As soon as you're outside, run for the stairs in the NE corner of the courtyard and go up to the second floor, where you can go through a door.
of 16: Run straight for the chest at the back of the room and open it to get all of your confiscated possessions back. Kill the guard that appears, then loot the room for the rest of its goods (including a complete guard outfit that does you no good whatsoever to wear).
of 16: Now head outside and have fun tearing up the guards with all your great equipment. When you're done with that (and with looting the other cell blocks of a few items, if you want), follow the gold arrow to free your mother again.
of 16: In the torture chamber, use the floor lever again and then head out the gold arrow door. This time, at least, there'll be no inescapable trap in the Underground Passage area (just a bunch of guards).
of 16: WARNING: Your mother isn't invincible this time, so keep an eye on her lifeline and use Heal Life every time she takes any amount of damage. You instantly fail the quest if she dies.
of 16: The undead on the Cliffside Path and the guards in the Underground Tunnel aren't much challenge, but you're in for one heck of a surprise when you make it to the large central room in the Underground Chamber.
of 16: A gigantic kraken will reach its tentacles up from the central basin and attack!
of 16: After the kraken is dead, head down to the Circle of the Dead exit to get a couple of cut-scenes that conclude the quest.
of 16: TIP: Return to the Cliffside Path any time you want to get lots of XP and huge combat multipliers by bashing the never-ending stream of weak undead that rise from the ground. Fun and easy!
